For over 25 years, we have specialized in the treatment of chronic pelvic pain and symptoms. We have treated a lot of people. We listened to their experiences and their pain symptoms. A lot of people told us that they are tired of the pain and that the persistent symptoms sometimes make them desperate. It is often quite a puzzle to find the causes of those complaints. Then, for example, it has already been investigated whether there is something wrong with the bladder, prostate or uterus. If a doctor finds no problem there, the treatment is often already done. We look further; we look at how the organs, muscles, nerves, joints, and other structures in the pelvis interact.
To know the cause of your symptoms, we will ask you questions: what pain is involved, how it arose, where do you feel the pain, what other symptoms do you have, what has already been examined and treated, and so on. Your personal circumstances or events in your environment are also very important. We listen to your story and to your experiences. Then we do a physical examination. For example, we feel the tension in your muscles and we look at your posture and the way you move.
Based on all the data, we make a diagnosis. Together with you, we then draw up an appropriate treatment plan.
Here’s what we can do for you:
- Listen carefully to your story.
- Examine everything related to your symptoms.
- Diagnose.
- Explain to you (in most cases) how the symptoms arose.
- If necessary, we refer you to other health care providers for additional testing or treatment.
The above comes together in the Diagnostic Consultation. You will then spend three to four hours with us. Read more about it here
As part of the Diagnostic Consultation, we prepare a treatment plan with you. Treatment consists of one or more of the options listed below. You can come to us for these treatments. If you live further away, the F-active All-in-One Program or the F-active Immersion Clinic may be of interest to you. We can also refer you to a practitioner in your area.
Good to know: we teach you exercises so that you can practice at home yourself. These exercises are an important part of treatment.
And: we cooperate with doctors and other health care providers; we have a large (inter)national network.
